08 PRINT SALE
Unless you are having open-heart surgery or have a broken femur you should come to this. It's a great way to get some of the amazing artwork that my peers do. I'll have some of my work in there (My Steve Zissou print Belafonte, The old man you've seen recently, the buildings I did for my final Spring semester, and like the true narcissist that I am I'll throw in a self-portrait for good measure, they've sold in years past). Thursday night is the time to go, but if you can't make it then come Friday.
If you want to see our cat Capital G in his halloween costume go here.

Kidrobot, Art Auction, and Disneyland.
I guess I might as well take advantage of some of this free time I have before class and start writing.
After spending a week at Disneyland I've learned a few things:
1. The Matterhorn is much better at night.
2. It always pays to only have two people, especially on the Matterhorn. I don't think we ever waited through the entire line.
3. Don't ride Big Thunder Mountain if you're stuck in the very front. The hills aren't that big and you're half way down them before you actually start to move.
4. I still love Monte Cristos (It's a sandwich).
5. The new Toy Story ride is worth the wait.
And, as you can see, my collection of Kidrobot Simpsons figures is growing. I'd like to get them all but I'd be happy just getting Homer and Maggie to complete the family, and for some reason I really like Mr. Smithers.
And here's progress on my print. The only thing I really need to do with it is work on his left hand a bit. And there is still some debate on whether to add a background or not. I'm kind of worried that if I do background it will just take away from the figures and it seems like everyone I ask tells me something different.

The Hush Sound
If you haven't heard this cd you should do so now. It's very nice. Below is my latest Illustration Concepts assignment. We were to do an advertising illustration for a fictional search engine called "TurboCrawler." Truth be told I don't really like it but it is growing on me. I would need to spend about an hour with a magnifying glass cleaning things up before it is actually done but I'm out of time with Disneyland right around the corner. Yes, we're leaving to Disneyland for a week on Monday. I'm equal parts stressed-out-of-my-mind and excited to get away for a week. Tomorrow Skullcandy is coming to my class to introduce the project we will be doing with them.
And before I go here's an interesting (or not) insight: I love hoagies.
